Dr. Kate Fiske is a licensed clinical psychologist and a board certified behavior analyst. She has worked in the field of autism treatment for over 25 years, and her clinical work and research focuses on best-practice approaches to teaching children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). A particular focus of her work centers on providing support to family members and other caregivers of individuals with ASD, and she frequently provides training to professionals on understanding the family experience. After beginning her career as a teacher for children with ASD at the New England Center for Children, Dr. Fiske earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at Rutgers University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Fiske served as a clinical professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick for 12 years, where she was also the Director of Academic Training and the Director of Family Support at Rutgers’ Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC). She continues to supervise doctoral students in psychology at Rutgers. Dr. Fiske has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is the author of the book, Autism and the Family: Understanding and Supporting Parents and Siblings.
